On the occasion of the e-invoicing reform, Victor Delancray, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at Docoon, explains the impact for companies and the key role of the Docoon × OOTI partnership for architects.

Can you explain the obligations related to e-invoicing and how Docoon supports companies ?

Starting September 2026, large enterprises and mid-caps (ETIs) will be required to use an Access Point (PA) to issue and receive invoices. For all other companies, the deadline is September 2027. No more piles of paper or postal mailings: everything will be done digitally and securely.

That’s where Docoon comes in. We support companies across all invoice flows, inbound and outbound. For received invoices, we collect every stream, apply validation workflows to check the match with the purchase order, then integrate the invoices directly into the client’s ERP, such as OOTI, for accounting entry. International flows are handled as well, even when suppliers don’t have an Access Point: everything is centralized to provide a complete view of accounts payable.

For issuance, the reform requires one of the three formats: Factur-X, UBL, or CII. Depending on the publisher’s capabilities, Docoon can validate the file’s compliance or generate it via our conversion tools. Invoices are then routed through the Access Point directory. For international, we handle delivery by email, EDI, or post.

The platform also covers e-invoicing, e-reporting (transmission of information to the State), and full invoice lifecycle management: receipt, validation, rejection, and payment, all in real time.

“Docoon is a technology built for software publishers — configurable and autonomous — able to handle all use cases, including complex ones, and international.”

What are the risks for non-compliant companies ?

In short, the financial health of the company may stall. Customers could suspend payments and suppliers could consider legal action. The State also plans fines for those who do not comply with the reform.

However, many companies don’t need to manage the reform directly, because their management software handles it for them. That’s exactly what OOTI does with the Docoon Invoice integration. Users can keep working as usual while staying fully compliant. That’s the added value of integrating an approved platform for a management software vendor.

How do your solutions adapt to architects and to public/private markets ?

Architects work on both public and private markets. For public projects, all invoices go through Chorus Pro, the State platform. Docoon, as a Chorus Pro concentrator, can send and retrieve invoices for public-sector clients. For private projects, invoices must pass through an Access Point like ours.

The strength of the OOTI/Docoon partnership lies in an ERP designed for architects’ needs. OOTI knows the industry perfectly, and we support them in the background: mapping reform use cases, adding the right features, technical support. In short, we enable them to offer a solution fully tailored to architect clients.

“Docoon Invoice covers every possible use case, and our technology is designed to integrate easily with publishers’ tools.”

Another key point: security. Our entire infrastructure is SecNumCloud-certified (ANSSI label), guaranteeing that data stays in France and is protected. For professions linked to architecture and heritage, that’s crucial. Lastly, we keep competitive pricing so partners can integrate our services without raising their prices.

How does the Docoon integration work inside OOTI ?

We created a dedicated environment for OOTI in Docoon Invoice. This lets them deploy all their clients directly on the platform. We register each client in the French directory and provide a test environment for every use case related to e-invoicing and e-reporting before the reform takes effect.

The level of integration is OOTI’s choice :

- Full integration : clients work only inside OOTI.
- Partial integration : some features are accessed via Docoon Invoice.

Currently, the chosen option is full integration for a smooth, transparent user experience.

Which features are available through this integration ?

Here is an exhaustive list of what we provide :

- Electronic signature: guarantees the identity of the issuer and the integrity of the content to ensure you’re working with a true electronic original.

- Probative archiving: NF461-certified, it ensures invoices are kept for 10 years in line with legal requirements — far beyond simple cloud storage.

- Complete e-invoicing, e-reporting, and lifecycle management: every step — receipt, validation, rejection, payment — is tracked in real time.

- International exchange: we centralize all flows, French and foreign, and Docoon is a PEPPOL Access Point, the European e-invoicing network.

What is the launch timeline for the OOTI integration ?

For each publisher we support, including OOTI, we start with a kick-off meeting. That’s where we map all reform use cases and plan the project phases: development, testing, integration.

Throughout the process, the publisher is supported by a two-person team: a Customer Success Manager (CSM) who ensures the project progresses and the timeline is met; and a technical project manager who supports developers on operational aspects (load tests, functional tests, integration, etc.).

At the end, a final acceptance report is signed to confirm that all deliverables are compliant. In general — depending on complexity — it takes three to six months from kick-off to go-live.

To conclude, can you tell us more about Docoon and its history ?

Docoon was founded in 1986. Today, we have 70 employees and revenue of €16.5 million. The company supports more than 3,000 clients across various sectors and processes over 100 million invoices per year, a figure expected to triple by 2026 with the reform.

At the beginning, we specialized in business messaging (SMS, fax, email). In 2010, at the request of a healthcare client, we developed a dematerialization platform for sharing lab results between patients, physicians, and laboratories. That technology became a springboard into e-invoicing.

Over the years, our services expanded: PDF processing, EDI flows, domestic and international management. We then refocused on supporting software publishers (like OOTI) and large companies able to integrate our technology via APIs.

This is how Docoon became an Approved Platform (PA) in July 2024. At that time, we were the 19th company to receive approval. Today, there are over a hundred in France, and around 10% of industry players use our technology white-label or gray-label. In the first case, our name doesn’t appear to the end client, but the service relies on our ISO 27001-certified technology. In the second, the partnership is simply more visible while remaining integrated into the publisher’s ecosystem.
